Abstract

This paper analyzes the routine of Brazilian women throughout the quarantine determined due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The confinement experience had a series of events that made it quite unique. The suspension of classroom activities in elementary schools and the subsequent implementation of homeschooling, the transfer of work activities to the domestic environment - the so-called home office - and forced coexistence are just some of the elements that have substantially changed the patterns of family interactions and the routine of individuals. The data that will be exposed below were obtained through an online questionnaire that circulated among women from all regions of the country. We reached 1,951 respondents who, anonymously, provided us with relevant data for the elaboration of the investigation presented here. Among the main conclusions of the research, we point out that during the quarantine, most respondents felt overwhelmed with household chores, in addition to being those who were most involved with the demands generated by the homeschooling system. Concomitantly, we are faced with significant percentages of domestic violence registered by these women during the period of social isolation.
